The Dutch Boy brand Paints were primarily based on “Dutch Boy White Lead”. A Paint Product Marketed to Children made for decades from a compound that was formulated from 91 Percent Pure Lead. Lead was first suspected to cause sickness, learning disabilities and death in children in the late 1800′s. In the early 19th Century, leading Medical Professionals identified Lead Paint as a cause of Death and Sickness. Countries around the world Banned Lead Paint products throughout the 1920′s and 30′s. Lead based Paint products persisted all the way up until the 1970′s due to the huge corporate power and money of the Lead Industry, used also as an additive to automobile fuel. ( “Leaded Gas” ) Lead Paint in Toys, Furniture and walls contributed to the death of thousands of children worldwide and causes birth defects and Metal Retardation in uncountable millions more.

I think it was another case of parents going bat shit about a toy that isn’t supposed to be bad. xD There was nothing wrong with the other one. In fact, the newer one looks more…erect.

It’s a tow handle! It was made like that, so the pillow pet can function more as a pillow. The new design looks a bit uncomfortable with the tow hook sticking up. People have their minds in the gutter so much now it’s disgusting.
I think the concept of a “Cars pillow PET,” is pretty fail, but parents wer just being uppity bitches about the design, as usual.

@capnquack True. The only reason that National Lead stopped using lead paint was because in 1978, a federal ban was put on lead paint. Thus, resulting in National Lead to stop using lead in their paint.
